The 7 Day Thanksgiving Challenge

During this time of year, we tend to focus our attention on giving thanks for the people and things around us.  With this in mind, Kim & I have created a simple and fun challenge that will help to foster gratefulness in our marriages and specifically toward our husbands.

All you’ll need to participate is a journal! (Simple enough, right?)

The activity:

  1. Think of some times that your husband did or said something that made you grateful (big or small) and write them down in your journal.
  2. Brainstorm 7 ways that you can express gratefulness to your husband (see examples below)
  3. Record what you do and your husband’s response.

**If you want to do one thing over and over again, feel free!**

Here are some ideas that you can use for the challenge:

  • Make a romantic dinner for the two of you
  • Write a love letter to him
  • Treat him to a spa date
  • Give him a backrub
  • Do one of his chores
  • Write notes talking about his favorable qualities and leave them in areas that he’ll be able to find them as a cute surprise

We’d love to hear the different ways that you’re showing gratefulness to your husband so please leave comments below and also share this activity with other wives.

  • Um, I have a question. What if one spouse have anger issues. Like simple questions can hardly be asked without them lashing out in anger. How is one to hold on in such trying times? Any advice will be appreciated.

    • Matthew 5:44 states, “But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you..” – while your husband is definitely NOT your enemy, I believe in this situation the same solution applies. Love him more. Pray for him more. Bless him more. But all the while, war in prayer! Pray for strength for yourself, and also that your husband’s heart will soften. With God, literally ALL things are possible so pray in faith and we’ll be over here praying as well!! <3

      • Thank you:) I will try these things. Sometimes as a women the weight of carrying the emotional aspect of the marriage can be heavy, but as you stayed with God all things are possible. One day at a time:) praying for the safe delivery for your sweet son.♡
